Buy & Sell
Buy from a scan card
Section titled “Buy from a scan card”-
Tap Buy under a token’s scan card, in a group or in your DM.
-
The trade panel opens as a new message under the card; the scan card itself stays as it is. In a group the panel is private: Telegram marks it Only visible to you, and nobody else in the group sees it or your balance.
-
Tap an amount. Prysm buys straight away and the panel shows the progress.
-
In a group, once the buy fills the same private panel shows your updated numbers and holding, with buttons to buy more or sell, and a line under ‹ Close such as “Bought $10 of PEPE · Tx” (Tx opens the transaction). The receipt goes to your private chat with Prysm.
If Telegram can’t show the private panel in a group, Prysm gives you a button to open the same panel in your private chat instead.
A panel nobody taps for 15 minutes is removed from the chat, since its buttons stop working then. Opening a panel on a token you already have a panel for removes the older one; panels on different tokens stay side by side. Receipts are never removed.
What the panel shows
Section titled “What the panel shows”- The token and its chain, with Refresh. Under the name, the contract (tap to copy) and your Balance (spendable USDC).
- The token’s market cap (MC) and its 24-hour trading volume (Vol).
- When you already hold the token: its Value and your PnL, Avg MC (B: the market cap at your average buy price, S: at your average sell price, over this position’s buys and sells), and Holding (the amount and its share of the token’s supply).
- Four amount buttons. They start at $10, $25, $50 and $100; change
them in
/trade→ Trade settings → Buy amounts. - X after them is for any other amount: type it as a reply (like
25or.5), or tap it on a keypad if you chose Keypad in Trade settings. On a panel in a group, the question is visible only to you; type the number in the group and Prysm deletes it right away. The smallest buy is $2, and you can’t buy more than your balance. - Sell 25%, Sell 50% and Sell 100% when you hold the token, and X to sell any other share (1 to 100%), typed or on the keypad the same way.
- A last line with your slippage limit and, when you hold the token, a PnL card link. The fee and network cost are on the receipt; see Fees.
If Prysm can’t trade a token, the panel says “Prysm can’t trade this token yet”. You can still sell it if you hold it.
Flagged tokens
Section titled “Flagged tokens”When a token fails a safety check (for example the honeypot check, a high buy or sell tax, or a creator who can freeze tokens), Prysm stops and asks first. The panel names what was flagged and waits for Confirm: a taxed token shows its tax (like “Sell tax 70%”), and a token that looks like a honeypot says plainly that you may not be able to sell it. The choice is yours: a flagged token you confirm is bought. (On a chain where you buy with its own coin, a token that can’t be sold back at all, or whose pool takes a bigger cut than its platform allows, is still refused.) The same happens when a chain has no safety check, and when a buy’s price is far from the card’s (the price moved a lot since you opened the panel): the Confirm then shows the quoted price, the card’s price and the gap. If the price moves further before your trade goes out, Prysm asks again. A price ten times off the card’s either way, or far too good to be real, is still refused. ‹ Back cancels; nothing is bought.
Sells are never refused by these checks. A sell more than half off the card’s price asks once, with the same numbers; any other sell goes out at once (unless Confirm each trade is on).
High price impact
Section titled “High price impact”On a thin market a large trade moves the price a lot. When that happens, Prysm shows you the price before anything trades: what you pay, what you get, the price impact and the price compared with the card’s. Buy at this price (or Sell at this price) takes exactly that price; if it gets worse before your trade goes out, you see the new one and decide again. ‹ Cancel stops it; no money moves. Prysm trades up to 99% price impact: above that, try a smaller amount.
Want to confirm every trade, flagged or not? Turn on /trade →
Trade settings → Confirm each trade. The same screen sets your
Max slippage: any value up to 99%, used on every trade (bonding-curve
tokens and chains where you buy with their own coin included). Until you
set one, Prysm picks the slippage for each trade by itself. A high slippage
is saved only after a warning: at a high slippage a trade can fill far
below the quoted price, so Prysm asks you to tap Use first, and above
50% the warning says most of what you trade can be lost. It warns once,
when you set it, not on every trade. Your panel then shows it marked
“(high)”.
Receipts
Section titled “Receipts”Every trade sends a receipt to your private chat with Prysm, even when you bought from a group; the receipt is never posted in the group. It shows what you spent, the fee and network cost, what you received, the market cap at the fill, and a link to the transaction. If a trade doesn’t go through, the receipt says why (the price moved past your slippage, the network didn’t confirm it in time, and so on), and when money was taken it says the amount is back in your balance. When a trade fails for a passing reason on our side before it reached the chain (the network was briefly behind, or the transaction expired before it was sent), Prysm tries it once more by itself within a few seconds, with the same amount, your slippage and all the usual checks; the receipt then shows “Tried again automatically” and follows the new try. A failed trade’s receipt has Retry, which places the same trade again with one tap (the same amount, or the same share for a sell), with a fresh price and your usual settings and checks. It isn’t offered when trying again can’t help, for example when your balance is too low or the token can’t be traded.
When the price moves more than your slippage before the trade lands, Prysm never retries it by itself and never raises your slippage on its own. The receipt says so (“Price moved more than your 8% slippage before the trade landed”) and has two buttons: Retry, with a fresh price and the same slippage, and Retry at 15% slippage, one step higher (8% to 15%, 15% to 25%, 25% to 50%, never above your maximum). The higher slippage is used for that one retry only; your saved setting stays as it is. A failed trade never makes you wait before trading that token again. Get help on a receipt asks for your message and sends it to Support with the trade’s reference attached.
When Prysm can’t place a trade at all (your balance is too low, the amount is below the minimum, or you don’t hold that much of the token), it answers with a short message under the trade panel saying what you tried and why, and the panel stays as it was. When your balance is too low, the message shows your balance and how much you’re short, with Buy … instead (your balance, in whole dollars) and Deposit. These buttons work for a minute, then go away.
Your positions
Section titled “Your positions”Send /positions (or /position) in your private chat with Prysm, or send /trade and tap Positions
(in a group, only you see it). It lists
every token you bought through Prysm:
- The token’s name. Tap it to open the token’s trade panel. Under it, the chart icon opens the token’s chart on the chart site you picked in Settings → General → Chart Provider.
- MCap: the token’s market cap now.
- Value at the latest price. A token without a price reads “price unavailable”, never $0.
- PnL against what you paid, fees included.
With tokens on more than one chain, the All tab (open first) lists every chain together, and a tab per chain filters to that chain. Twenty-five positions show per page. Tokens in your wallet that you didn’t buy through Prysm are counted on one line at the bottom, not listed.
Calendar under the list opens your PnL calendar: each day you sold this month, green or red.
In our private chat a Positions list stays where it is and its buttons keep
working, so you can come back to it later. A token you open from it takes the
list’s place; if you leave that panel for 15 minutes, your next tap on it brings
the list back. In a group, your private /trade
menu is removed after 15 minutes nobody taps it, like the trade panel.
Hide a position
Section titled “Hide a position”Tap the crossed-out eye before a token’s name to hide it from Positions. Hiding only changes the list: the tokens stay in your wallet, and their auto alerts and the trade panel work as before. Hidden tokens move to Hidden (N) under the list (shown once you hide one), where the name still opens the trade panel and the eye puts the token back in Positions. If you sell all of a hidden token and buy it again later, it shows in Positions again.
Open the token’s trade panel, from its name in Positions or from Buy on its scan card, and tap Sell 25%, Sell 50% or Sell 100%. The share is of what your wallet holds right now. The sale turns the token back into USDC on Solana, and the receipt lands in your DM like a buy’s.
You can sell a token Prysm can no longer buy, and you can sell while buying is paused.
Auto alerts
Section titled “Auto alerts”When a token you bought goes up, Prysm messages you in your private chat as your position reaches 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 75x and 100x of what you paid (your average price, fees included). Each level alerts once; a jump past several levels sends one message for the highest.
Each alert shows the market cap you bought at, the market cap now and what your holding is worth, with your three Sell buttons and Open panel. A Sell there works like the one on the trade panel.
In the token’s trade panel, the bell next to the ticker shows how many levels are still to come. Tap it to see every level with the market cap it needs and how far that is from now; levels already reached are ticked. Turn off stops the alerts for that token (Turn on brings them back, without alerting levels already passed).
Alerts stop by themselves once you sell the whole position. They are
separate from the price alerts you set with /alert.
PnL card
Section titled “PnL card”Share how a trade went as a picture. Tap PnL card on a sell receipt, or the PnL card link at the end of the small line under a token’s trade panel (shown while you hold it), and Prysm sends the card to your DM. It shows the result from your first buy to the sell that emptied the position; a position you still hold counts at today’s price. Tap Show % only under the picture to hide every dollar amount (the multiple is shown instead); Show amounts brings them back. Prysm remembers your choice for the next card.
Trade settings
Section titled “Trade settings”Send /trade and tap Trade settings. Tap a setting’s value or switch
to change it:
- Buy amounts: the four amounts on the trade panel’s buy buttons.
- <chain> buy amounts (when shown): on a chain where you buy with its own coin, the four amounts of that coin on the panel’s buy buttons.
- Max slippage: how far below the quoted price a trade may fill, up to 99%. A high value asks you to confirm it first.
- Confirm each trade: every trade waits for your Confirm after its price is set.
- Sell amounts: the three shares on the panel’s Sell buttons and on auto alerts (25, 50 and 100% to start).
- Auto alerts on new buys: on by default. Turn it off and tokens you buy from then on get no auto alerts; you can still turn them on for one token with its bell.
- Custom amount: how the panel’s X asks for an amount. Type it (the default) asks you to reply with the number; Keypad shows number buttons instead.
- Max tip (when shown): the most a trade may tip to land faster when the network is busy. It is part of the trade’s network cost.
- Monthly PnL recap DM: off by default. Turn it on and Prysm sends you last month’s PnL calendar on the 1st.
