TikTok, Instagram & YouTube Cards

When someone shares a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube Shorts post in a group, Prysm answers it with a card that plays the video (or shows the photo) right in the chat.

  • The video or photo itself. A video too big for Telegram shows its cover picture instead.
  • Who posted it: their name and @handle, linked to their profile.
  • The post’s text, folded: tap it to read it all.
  • Its numbers (TikTok): views, likes, comments, shares and how long ago it was posted.
  • The tokens in the text: every contract in it that trades on a DEX, with its chain, ticker and market cap. The CA button copies it; Scan sends its scan card.
  • Who shared it, and a link to open the post.

Instagram cards show the author and the video or photo; Instagram doesn’t make a post’s text and likes available to bots.

YouTube cards are for Shorts (youtube.com/shorts/… links): they show the channel, the title and description, and the video in 360p. When the video can’t be fetched, the card shows its thumbnail instead. Regular YouTube videos don’t get a card.

Private and deleted posts can’t be shown.

It’s on by default. Group admins can turn it off with /links (or /settings → Links → TikTok, Instagram & YouTube). For the first week in a group, each card shows a small line saying so for a few seconds.

A message that is only the link (no words of its own) is replaced by the card: Prysm posts the card and deletes the link message, when it’s allowed to delete messages in the group. A link with your own words around it stays, and the card replies to it.

The same post shared again in the next 10 minutes doesn’t get a second card.
